Barbershop Quartets

You could say that quartets are the heart of barbershop singing. The quartet consists of one singer on each of the four parts: tenor, lead, baritone and bass. The Lakelanders Barbershop Chorus has four quartets. Two of the four quartets in the Lakelanders Barbershop Chorus are registered with the Barbershop Harmony Society, a brotherhood of over 800 chapters in 17 districts in the United States and Canada.

Vocal Express

This quartet was just a trio when Bob spotted Scott as he was walking down the street. "Can I give you a ride to barbershop chorus on Monday?" he asked. Scott said yes and soon also said yes to singing in a quartet with Bob, Dale and Curt. That was in 2006. Since that time, this quartet has sung at numerous venues and in many competitions. They are currently the only quartet from the Faribault Barbershop Harmony Society chapter that regularly competes in the Southwest Division and Land 'O' Lakes District contests.

Vocal Express has been entertaining audiences throughout our area for six years. They regularly appear at the New Prague Variety Show. This will be their second year serenading Valentines Day diners at Lakeside Supper Club outside of Montgomery. Available for hire, they often sing at benefits, weddings and anniversary celebrations. Vocal Express is comprised of Curt Danielson, lead (Faribault), Dale Danielson, tenor (Montgomery -- yes, he and Curt are brothers!), Bob Ruhland, bass (Montgomery), and Scott Creighton, baritone (Montgomery).
